Finding Wellness
The wellness space is cluttered with gurus who swear they have the best solution but the truth is only YOU know what works best for you and your body, mind and spirit. We've been conditioned to think of health as thinness or the absence of illness. But we need to start thinking more holistically beyond just what our body looks and feels like. My goal is to help you look at your whole life: your career, your spirituality, your mental health, your environement, etc. to see how you can support your overall health and wellbeing. Get curious, listen to your body, and start making small shifts today that will have a big impact tomorrow! You are worth the time, money, energy and effort required to live a full, complete, happy and healthy life!
Finding Wellness
5. Are you OK? Or are you missing the warning signs of something bigger?
Hey hey! It's good to be back!
On this episode I dive into my symptoms of depression. Since depression is new(ish) to me, I missed some warning signs. Of course, the pandemic, the political climate, etc. led me to believe that everyone was cranky, miserable, lethargic, etc. all the time.
I had good intentions to practice self care and gratitude to help improve my mood. But lets face it. If it feels like an all day chore to take a simple shower, how likely are you to do anything extra? Depression is serious and, I think, more prevalent than we realize. Here is a link to the mayo clinic to learn more about the signs and symptoms.
While we are all collectively experiencing a general sense of apathy, if you're finding normal day to day tasks to be unimaginable hurdles, you should know that life was simply not meant to be lived like this. You deserve better. I encourage you to seek help.
